I found some time today and decided to start with Moo-Point.

Updates include:

Built on the latest version of Sandbox (v1.5.2)

Gravatar support built in

Updates to the CSS:

Modified the styling of the navigation bar

Changed the styling of the asides posts on the home page slightly

Adjusted the styling of the blockquotes

The largest of the changes listed above are the changes made to the navigation bar. The menu CSS is now a modification of one of Stu Nicholls’ CSS only drop-down menus and should work better across more browsers.

I have made some very minor updates to the IAMWW w2 DnD WordPress theme.

Some padding

Thanks to a question by Malcolm Coles:

When the browser is less wide than the page, the character at the start of each line is so close to the browser border that it becomes a little hard to read.

I have now added a 10px padding to the sides of the main container. To prevent the content from being slammed up against the sides of the browser when the view port is narrower than the page.

Some tagging

In version 0.80, I also added the ability to display a posts tags on the respective post’s page and along with post excerpts in the archives.

Due to tagging only being supported in WordPress 2.3+, there are now two versions of IAMWW w2 DnD available. One for WordPress versions older than 2.3 and one for versions equal and newer.

Please let me know in the forums if anyone finds an issue.

Not sure if it was the spirit of the holidays, something I ate or procrastination of working on other projects but I spent several hours last night and this morning updating the IAMWW w2 DnD WordPress theme to version 0.75. This release version, codenamed Validation, now completely validates on XHTML and CSS.

Aside from code validation, several changes to the theme were made. I believe every theme file was updated, modified and improved in some way.

Modified Header

The header of the theme has been completely rearranged. The site description has moved over to the left below the site name. The global search has been moved from the top of the sidebar to the header.

Comment Styling

The styling of the comments and comment form have now been cleaned up with uniform padding and a border around individual comments.

Cleaner CSS

The CSS has been cleaned up and segmented with comments to make tweaking the theme a little easier (and I just couldn’t stand the way it was). <ins>Update: Per Small Potato’s suggestion, all inline CSS and use of the breaks (<br />) has been removed from the theme.</ins>

Future Releases

I would like to release at least one more version of the theme to include the tagging made available in WordPress 2.3. I did not add tags to this version so that it would be compatible with WordPress versions before 2.3.

With all major updates to WordPress bugs may come about. Please let me know if you find any issues or have any suggestions to continue improving the theme. Thanks to all the those who already gave suggestions for improvements to w2 DnD.

The w2 DnD WordPress theme is available for download on the theme’s page. You can also take the theme for a drive on my demo site.

I have decided to no longer support the IAMWW w2 WordPress theme. However, anyone that has already downloaded and installed w2, please feel free to contact me with any issues.

Although I am discounting support of the original w2, I have made an updated
comments.php
file available for download on the theme’s page. The updated file fixes issues with broken layouts on sites that require registration for commenting. This file is meant to overwrite the existing
comments.php
file in the IAMWW w2 theme folder.

If you like the w2 theme, please check out the IAMWW w2 DnD WordPress theme instead. I should not have forked IAMWW w2 DnD from the original theme in the first place. Almost all of the same styling is used in the two themes. However, where w2 DND differs is the installation of the theme. Specific plugins and editing the PHP are no longer required. Making the theme easier to install and support.

Please understand this decision was made to help allow me the time to better support the themes I make available and to update those themes as needed (e.g., to support the tagging feature available in WordPress 2.3).

If you have any addition questions, comments or concerns please leave a comment explaining.

I am proud to announce the release of a new WordPress theme, IAMWW w2 DnD. DnD is very similar to the original IAMWW w2. However, the theme is much easier to install and no longer requires specific plugins.

This theme was built for users that do not know how or want to deal with editing PHP or installing and configuring additional plugins. This will also allow me to submit the theme to various showcases and galleries.

The full Prototype and Script.aculo.us JavaScript libraries are no longer used. The sliding drawer for displaying categories is still present. It now runs on just a few lines of JavaScript and should allow sites to load much faster.

Head over to the theme’s page to see a preview and download.
