I Am Looking Forward to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard

I can’t wait to upgrade to Mac OS X Leopard.

I am most excited about:

For all those Mac users out there, what features are you most excited about and will you upgrade right away or wait for the 10.5.1 updates? I am still undecided.

Check out Apple’s list of the more than 300 new features.

  1. I’m actually thinking about switching from PC Windows to Mac.

Stopped by the local Apple store the other day to get some information about it. Now waiting for the release of Leopard and then I’ll decide whether or not I’m going to buy a Macbook pro.

  2. I’m looking forward to Leopard too. I can’t wait.
There are also some interesting new font-related changes to Leopard, that I’ve just read about here:
Grading the New Font “Features” in OS X Leopard. Some of those new features look pretty promising. It’s the wait that kills me….

  3. @Stefson - I don’t think you will regret switching to Mac. I posted a comment on your post: Macbook Pro VS Asus G2S. However, I forgot to mention the customer service rocks too.

@Johno - I agree. I can’t wait. I am somewhat of an OS junkie and the new OS X looks amazing.

I think I will have to upgrade on or near the 26th and just work though any issues.

  4. Thanks for the comment.

Funny thing that happened when I visited that Apple store the other day. I was asking all kinds of questions regarding Apple PC’s and the OS.

One question I asked was ‘How do you format a Mac?’
The salesperson looked at me with a puzzled look and said ‘format’?

I’m like ‘Euhm yea format, if the pc gets screwed or something.’

He then smiled and said ‘You’re a Windows users right?’

Have any of you ever had to format and re-install MAC OS?

  5. Stefson - I have had my iMac for about a year and a half and I haven’t had to reformat or re-install (even with it being the first Mac I have owned). However, I have gotten pretty good at keeping machines stable and backed up. I have a Windows Media PC that I built in July 2006 that I haven’t had to rebuild and it typically runs fine for about a month solid without even a reboot.

Another cool feature of Macs is the ability to create a mirror image of your harddrive on an external firewire drive. If anything goes wrong, you can just boot from the firewire drive and not loose any data, settings, etc.

  6. Same here.
I’ve gotten to know Windows machines pretty well over the years.

Didn’t know about the backup function. Sounds pretty nifty. Thanks.
